Weekly Theme:  Wild West Adventures

This week we will have fun with two of our cowboy friends and their adventures in the Wild West.  We will meet the cowboys and then use them to learn how we should talk to others, how people may read our body language and how to read others’, and finally how to keep up and be responsible for our own things.  We will have fun with different art projects and sensory activities themed around the Wild West.  We will learn some new songs and outdoor games that will help us learn to work together.

Social Skills Focus: Reading body language, speaking carefully, and taking care of your belongings

Staff members are educational professionals who understand and have been trained in the characteristics of and research based strategies used for children with special needs. Our camp staff is skilled in creating a structured and supportive environment that fosters the positive social and life skills of each camper who attends day camp.

Middle Schoolers/High/Young Adults with HFA/Aspergers Specialty Group: Technology: Video and blogging

This group is for High Functioning/Asperger's Middle School, High School and Young Adults

Does your teen enjoy hobbies related to videos and technology? Then you don't want to miss this week of camp. The focus of the week will be learning about digital videos and blogs. Campers will gain confidence in their own abilities as well as learn the importance of appreciating the value and strengths of others in their group while working in teams. They will also develop and further enhance their skills in the areas of digital videos and editing to make a video of their camp week, team or chosen subject and learn to build a team video for YouTube.  Technology and social activities will be customized to the group based on the participants ages, ability and motivation so that we can facilitate individual and group positive experiences.  Each technology week is a different set of stand alone skills  so register for one or both!
