We will have fun learning about dinosaurs and making dinosaurs for a parade at the end of the week.  We will be doing this all while learning about our peers and learning to work together.  Each camper will get to show their group their strengths and weaknesses and use these strengths and weaknesses to work with each other.  We will do a number of fun activities such as searching for fossils and making fossils.  We will walk like dinosaurs and get to sound like them too.  We will spend the week using structured play to learn about each other while exploring our interests in dinosaurs.

Social Skills Focus: Making and keeping friends, following directions

This group is for High Functioning/Asperger's Middle School, High School and Young Adults

Connections: This week Speciality group will explore job skills, training and social issues facing teens with Asperger's syndrome and HFA. The program focuses on how to make connections with what they like to do and what they might do as a job in the future, carry out the duties of a job, and practice social and leadership skills needed in a work environment. Guest speakers will be invited to share information about their careers and why they chose the jobs they did. In addition, the program emphasizes building self-esteem by having the pre-teens/teens/young adults explore their strengths through real life experiences and on-site camp responsibilities.
